Father's
Day CraftsFathers' Day Treasure Box
Little hands and big hearts make the best Fathers' day gifts. While
power tools and gadgets look appealing, everyone knows that a gift
made of paper and glue can beat them hands down when it comes to being
something treasured in the years to come. Store bought items break,
but memories last forever...and here's a great box to help Dad keep
them in a safe place. Items you will need: Picture of your
family (don't forget the dog!)
Empty cigar box. If you can't find one, any sturdy box with a hinged
lid will do.
Glue, tissue paper, construction paper, scissors
Craft miniatures - small replicas of common things - fishing lures,
lawnmowers, tools, etc. You can get these at just about any craft
store. (optional) How to: 1. Clip out letters and picture
that your Dad might like - if he's a sports fan, find pictures of his
favorite players or their team logo; If he's handy, cut out pictures
of tools. If all else fails, you can make handprints on a piece of
construction paper and cut them out. 2. Cover the box with paper and
glue in place.
3. Arrange and glue the pictures and letters on the outside of the
box. If you have miniatures, glue them on last. 4. Put a picture of
yourself on the lid of the box. 5. Add a note on the inside of the
lid that tells your Dad how you feel about him and how special he is
to you. 6. Wrap it up and give it to him on Fathers' day. He'll love
having a place to put his special things!
